A divided disc from a birch tree is interfused with mushroom mycelium and encased in two black vitrines covered with glass.During the exhibition period one vitrine offers the optimum mycelium-growth conditions, the other rather harsh conditions.

Thus the halfs, that have been almost equal at the beginning, gradually differ more and more.
